FAQs
What’s the purpose of Tellaverse?
We want to provide you with photo and video communication tools that allow you to reveal yourself and tell your story more easily to others in person. We are initially focused on unlicensed caps, and we want to expand into backpacks, bags, purses, tote bags, and licensed Tells and apparel.
What is a Tell? What is a Verse?
A Tell is circular fabric that is NFC enabled, Velcro-backed, and sublimation printed with your uploaded image. A Verse is the content a Tell connects to, typically a short video.
What are the Tell dimensions? Are Tells washable?
A side Tell is 2.25”. This Tell also fits in pencil/makeup cases.
A front Tell is 2.3”. In the future the front Tell will be reduced to 2.25”
The print won’t be impacted but Tells have NFC chips (which have small antennas) and are not meant to be placed in the wash.
My Tell is not inserted into the apparel and is curling. What should I do?
Place the Tell between two objects or insert into something like a plastic coin holder.
Why do I need to upload a photo that is larger than the Tell I receive? What’s the purpose of the green safe line?
To get your photo to the Tell’s edge, we need to cut off a little of the fabric that contains your uploaded image. Since a portion of the Tell will be inserted into a non-visible cavity, the total Tell image will not be visible. The purpose of the safe line is to guide you to what portion of the Tell should be visible.
How does the Tell open up a smart phone?
Smart phones are manufactured with NFC chips in them. To know exactly where, Google where your phone’s NFC chip is located within the phone. After making sure your phone’s NFC service is turned on, Place the phone (at the phone’s NFC chip location) over the Tell. The phone will first be sent to the NFC chip’s web address where it will be redirected to your linked web address, no app required.
Do I “Claim the Tell” If I am giving this cap and Tell as a gift?
The answer depends on who the person is to control the web link. If you are giving a grandparent cap to your mom/dad and you are going to be the person to connect your child’s video to the Tell, then you will Claim the Tell. If your parent (the grandparent) is going to control the web link to their grandchild’s video then they will Claim the Tell.
For the first time, how do you input the web address linked to your Tell?
The first time you place your smartphone over our Tell, it will ask you if you want to Claim the Tell. If you claim the Tell, you will be able to log into Tellaverse using your email address and your Tell will be added to your Tellaverse account. You’ll have the ability to name your Tell and input a web address that your Tell will be linked to. When you place a phone over the Tell, it will open up that phone to that web address.
How do you swap out the web address of your Tell?
Go to Tellaverse.com and press the button to login to your account. Login to your Tellaverse Tell account and input a new web address. That’s it. Your Tell will update in real time.
Online Order Return Policy
Tellaverse is committed to providing its customers with quality products and exceptional service. Tellaverse will accept returns requests for non-customized merchandise for 7 days. As is typical with customized products, we aren't able to accept returns for the Tells, but we’ll work hard to ensure your satisfaction. Since some products are a combined purchase of a Tell and apparel, we’ll provide refunds for the apparel portion of the purchase. Customer will be responsible for all freight and shipping charges on items returned that are not the result of Seller's error.
Please allow 14 business days for your return to be processed. Any Approved Credit will show up on your credit card statement within 1 to 2 billing cycles.
What is my turnaround time?
Typically 7 days, plus shipping time. If you have a specific event or deadline let us know though. We will go above and beyond to try and meet all realistic deadlines.
How do sublimated patches work?
Sublimation is the transfer of a digital image onto textile fabrics through a specialized printer and heat press. The ink permeates the fibers of the fabric and are locked in place, providing in many ways a photorealistic recreation of the original image.
Most digital images are created in RGB (Red, Green and Blue), but printed images are created via CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and “Key” or Black) colors to ensure that the colors on screen will most closely match the final printed produce. Please understand that the bright values produced by your monitor cannot be exactly reproduced in print.
What is “resolution”? What resolution should my photo be for uploading?
Raster images like photos are comprised of pixels or dots of colors. High resolution means there are many dots per inch. Please aim for 300 dpi at the desired image size. Since the size of our Tells are small (approx.. 2.5”) we can accept photos with a lower resolution but the non-refundable Tells will not be as clear and crisp as higher resolution photos. Lower resolution images appear fuzzy, jagged, and blurry.
The recommended photo quality for sublimation is 300 dpi. The image should be at imprint size or larger, and saved as a high resolution bitmap image, such as .JPG, .TIF, .GIF, .PNG, .PSD, or .BMP. Bitmap images that start out as low resolution graphics cannot be saved at a higher resolution.
